According to SoccerSouls.com, Antoine Griezmann is one of the most promising and sought-after forwards in football right now.Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in signing him from Atletico Madrid. Griezmann is a versatile forward; he can play as a winger, striker or an attacking midfielder.

With the future of controversial striker Diego Costa uncertain, Griezmann could play as Chelsea’s main striker – a role he has played several times for Atletico. His preferred position is a winger, and Chelsea undoubtedly will be on the lookout for new players in that position this summer.

Last season Eden Hazard was Chelsea’s player of the year but this season he has been a shadow of the player we saw last season. He went 30 games without a goal and he is constantly linked with Real Madrid, a move which looks more likely now Zinedine Zidane is in charge of the Spanish club. The former Galactico has stated his admiration of the Hazard in the past. Griezmann could also provide competition for players like Oscar and Willian.

Griezmann is a pacey and very skillful player. It’s surprising more of the bigger clubs around Europe haven’t made a move for the Frenchman. He has plenty of experience at club level and national level, he looks likely to be a starter for France in this summer’s European Championship. The Premier League is very different from La Liga so it would be interesting to see if Griezmann could make the transition, it doesn’t matter how good of a player you are, some players just aren’t cut out for the Premier League – we saw this last season with Angel Di Maria at Manchester United.

Chelsea will be hoping to climb back up the Premier League table next season and considering this season the team has dramatically under-performed, their new manager will be making a lot of squad changes this summer.
