According to Squawka news online, Arsenal will face Barcelona and the fearsome triumvirate of Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Neymar on Tuesday evening, but to form the most dangerous frontline, sacrifices have to be made.

To make way for Suárez in the summer of 2014, Alexis Sánchez had to leave the Camp Nou. Made available as it became clearer that Suárez would be swapping Arsenal for Barcelona, Alexis had to search for a new club. Arsenal were the lucky club to profit.

And so it played out. Barcelona, as expected, were proven right to sell the Chilean star. Luis Suárez fitted into the Spanish giants’ team perfectly, with his intelligent and unselfish play helping to bring the best out of Neymar and Messi at the same time. It inspired the Catalan club to an historic treble, as they became the first club in European football to claim the treble a second time.

Meanwhile in London, Alexis had settled in seamlessly and inspired Arsenal to another FA Cup win. It didn’t take long for him to start performing for the Gunners, and an incredible volley against Manchester City really announced him to the Premier League. With injuries to Theo Walcott, Mesut Özil and Olivier Giroud the onus was on Alexis to deliver, and it didn’t faze him one bit.
