According to Liverpool Fc website, Liverpool Ladies FC can today confirm a pre-season fixture amendment for the Discovery Liverpool Ladies FC Tour of South Africa.

After playing the winners of the Discovery Walter Sisulu Ladies Challenge on Sunday February 21, the Reds will face Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC in a friendly match on Wednesday February 24.

Both games will take place at the Nike Football Training Centre in Soweto, as Liverpool Ladies prepare for the 2016 Women’s Super League campaign.

Scott Rogers' side were originally hoping to play a friendly match against South Africa’s national women's football team, Banyana Banyana, but the team was unfortunately unavailable.

Discovery will host the Reds in South Africa in a combined effort to support the funding of their Fields of Dreams project.

This community-based initiative is focused on developing sports facilities in Alexandra in Johannesburg.

These facilities will be used to host sports clinics aimed at encouraging the youth to be healthier and more active.
Iona Maclean, head of experiential marketing at Discovery was quoted saying:

“We are excited that the Reds will be training on South African soil and we look forward to welcoming the coaches and players to the country.”

Tickets to the Liverpool Ladies FC vs. Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC match, to be held at 7pm on February 24, can be purchased at the following venues or at the door on the day.

Tickets cost R20 (children 12 years of age and under get in for free) and all proceeds will go to the Discovery Field of Dreams initiative. Entry to the Liverpool Ladies vs. Walter Sisulu Ladies Challenge Winners match on February 21 at 4pm is free, and fans and spectators are welcome to attend.
