Cristiano Ronaldo struggling to make an impact at Real Madrid

According to GiveMeSport.com, Since arriving in the Spanish capital back in 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo has acted as Real Madrid's talisman, scoring goals for fun.

But the notion that Ronaldo is still Real's main man may not be entirely correct. Alongside teammate Karim Benzema, he may well be the club's joint leading scorer in La Liga this season with 19 goals, but his importance to the cause appears to be diminishing.

19 goals is quite the return, of course; only Barcelona superstar Luis Suarez has more league goals than the Portuguese phenomenon this term, but there is still a problem.

The Mirror have reported that Ronaldo's goals this season are yet to earn his side a single point in Spain's elite division. Now that is surprising. It's even more remarkable when you compare his influence this season against the past two campaigns.

At this stage in the 2014/15 season, his goals had contributed to 10 points while in 2013/14, 14 points had been earned through Ronaldo's strikes. Perhaps, then, the 31-year-old is on the decline.
