According to mirror.co.uk, Chelsea star Eden Hazard has stepped in to help a man suffering from amnesia to remember his past.

The attacking midfielder has sent Chelsea fan Vladimir Howard a signed DVD of the club's Premiership winning season in the hope it will jog his memory.

Hazard was so moved when he heard of the plight of Mr Howard, 36, he asked to help.

The long-standing Chelsea fan had a year of his life wiped from his memory after he was battered unconscious.
He was unable to recall any of his team's 2015 Premier League winning season after the street assault on his way home from the shops.

The avid fan, who never misses a home game, resorted to watching games on YouTube to jog his memory.

Now the Belgium-born attacking midfielder has sent Mr Howard a club DVD review of the season with the message: "Vladimir, to jog your memory! Get well soon."

Vladimir, a carpenter from Bermondsey, south London, was left with a broken cheek bone after the night-time assault.

Chelsea fan Vladimir Howard was quoted saying: "This is really going to help. "Watching on YouTube has been helping me remember but this is much, much better.

"It's is nice of Eden to think of me. From now in he is my top man.

"I love Chelsea and because the club is a big part of my life I'm sure this will trigger the memories."

A club spokesman added: "We just hope it helps Vladimir recall some happy times. Eden thought it was worth a try."

The attack happened in November last year when Vladimir, who is single, was strolling home.

He was found unconscious the next morning on the pavement with his food shopping scattered around him.

Police are now appealing for information about the attack in Bermondsey, south London.
