Reyaad Pieterse still not committing to Kaizer Chiefs

According to KickOff online magazine, Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse is still likely to leave despite the fact that he has fought his way to being the first choice in the absence of the injured Itumeleng Khune.
Pieterse’s contract with Chiefs runs up at the end of June but he is yet to commit to a new deal though Chiefs initially made an offer to extend as far back as the beginning of the season.
An improved offer is understood to have been made but Pieterse has kindly asked to be given time.
With Khune forever battling injuries through much of the last 20 months Pieterse has slowly negotiated his way into being more than just a reliable back-up, producing performances that haven’t thrown any indication that the Chiefs favourite is missed between the posts.
The bone of contention for the 24-year-old is that he is not entirely keen on remaining a shadow keeper as his chances to play only genuinely come when Khune is not available as is the case right now.
Khune is out with an ankle injury at the moment picked up in the Soweto Derby at the end of last month in his first match back from yet another injury.
Pieterse has so far this season played the most games of all three keepers at the club with 13 starts plus one substitute appearance to his name while Khune has 12 and Brilliant Khuzwayo three.
KickOff.com has been informed that Pieterse’s handlers are prioritising a move to Europe as they feel any move to another local club will not provide the kind of progress that Pieterse’s career needs right now.
They also fear that if he remains at Chiefs then he will forever be a back-up to the more established but injury-prone Khune.
