According to KickOff online Magazine, SuperSport United striker Kingston Nkhatha says his side have a score to settle when they take on his and Stuart Baxter’s former club Kaizer Chiefs.
The ‘reunion’ match is set for Cape Town Stadium on Saturday night, when Nkhatha and Baxter will face their former employers together for the first time since they both left Amakhosi.
Nkhatha is confident his excellent working relationship with Baxter can yield results for Matsatsantsa, in the way it did for Chiefs not so long ago.
Kingston Nkhatha was quoted saying:
“It was obviously great news upon hearing the news that coach Baxter is coming back to South Africa to join SuperSport United in the coaching department. My relationship with the coach comes a long way; we worked harmoniously at Chiefs until we went separate ways,” Nkhatha tells the club’s website.
“The coach had a successful stay at Chiefs. Also, he had good players who brought positive results to the team because of teamwork. Chiefs are one of the biggest clubs in the world and that alone kept us going. I enjoyed my days at Chiefs working under coach Baxter, I can tell you that.
“The previous match [as SuperSport beat University of Pretoria 2-0] lifted the spirit of the team and it is important for us to collect points so that we cement a place in the top eight bracket.”
Nkhatha says the SuperSport players will be out for revenge after Chiefs won their first round Absa Premiership clash 4-1 back in September.
“We are facing league contenders with good players and this is going to be a tough one. However, one thing in our minds is that we are going there to settle the score,” he concludes.
