According to Daily Mail, David Luiz was pleased with Paris Saint-Germain's victory over Chelsea but admitted the French side could be taking a bigger lead into the return leg.

Goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani sandwiched a strike from John Obi Mikel in the Champions League last-16 clash.

But Luiz, who left west London for Paris in 2014, knows the tie remains on a knife-edge.

David Luiz was quoted by beIN Sport saying:

'[It is] only a narrow win, but a win against a good team. I think we gave it our all tonight and got the win we wanted, Sure, it could have been better.'

' We made many opportunities. We have good feelings. It's already a good step to take the first leg.'

Chelsea went in level at the break at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night after Mikel cancelled out Ibrahimovic's deflected free-kick.

That away goal could prove vital for Guus Hiddink's side despite Cavani's winner.

The Uruguayan scored for only the second time since mid December and immediately set his sights on winning Europe's premier club competition.
Edison Cavani who scored the winner was quoted saying:

'It's a fantastic night. We won, which is the most important thing. We really want to win this competition,' he said.

'I am very happy. I think we forwards, we live thanks to goals. They give us the strength to keep working. So yes, this is important for the group and for me.

'This period has been difficult and I am trying to change things.'

The second leg takes place at Stamford Bridge on March 9.
