Michigan Stadium Will Host Chelsea FC vs Real Madrid

According to the sports bank online news, The last time Michigan Stadium, “the Big House” hosted a soccer match, all it did was break the American attendance record (109,318) for the sport. Football international returns to the home of Michigan Wolverines football as Chelsea will take on Real Madrid.

The International Champions Cup, a preseason exhibition tournament composed of many global football powers in several leagues, and played on multiple continents, made the announcement today.



They’ll meet Saturday, July 30, at 3 p.m. ET. The previous Michigan Stadium contest also included Real Madrid, but the opponent that time was Manchester United. Just like in that clash two years ago, expect a huge crowd to attend. Tickets will be hot, scorching, to get into Michigan Stadium on that afternoon

Exclusive presale tickets for the match will be available Tuesday, March 29 at 8:30 a.m. ET while the general public will have access to tickets beginning Tuesday, April 5 at 8:30 a.m. through the Michigan Athletic Ticket Office.


“We are ecstatic to be coming back to the University of Michigan,” read a statement attributed to Charlie Stillitano, Chairman of Relevent Sports (the company putting the event on).

“In 2014, Real Madrid and Manchester United set the record for largest attended soccer game and we expect another great crowd, as Real Madrid and Chelsea are two of the biggest and best teams in the world. This will be a marquee match of the tournament and we are excited to bring the ICC back to Michigan.”
